Meet George, Owner of GL West Builder Inc.

With over 20 years of hands-on experience in construction across the US and Canada, George brings a wealth of expertise to every project. After more than 10 successful years in Vancouver (BC), where he became a trusted name in the local building community, George returned to the Bay Area in 2025 to continue delivering high-quality construction services through GL West Builder Inc.

George’s background spans all facets of residential and commercial building—from foundation to roof. His portfolio includes new builds, renovations, additions, roofing, electrical, plumbing, kitchens, bathrooms, finish carpentry, and exterior work including siding, stucco, and rain-screen systems.

Previously, George owned and operated GL West Construction Ltd. in Vancouver and Peninsula GL Construction in the Bay Area. He has also held roles such as Project Manager for Peninsula Land Development and Roofing Specialist at Carol Backs Roofing in San Jose. Before launching GL West Builder Inc, George partnered with A&G West Construction Ltd. and served as Superintendent Assistant for Amacon, a leading development company in Vancouver.

Community Involvement

George has been a dedicated supporter of the Romanian community in both Vancouver and the Bay Area. He has been a major contributor to the development and ongoing upkeep of Holy Trinity Romanian Orthodox Church in Vancouver and Holy Cross Church in San Jose—donating countless hours of skilled volunteer work to help build and maintain these community spaces.

Outside of work and community service, you’ll often find George on the golf course or by the grill, enjoying time with his family.
